#022: Authentic Inaction: Being in choice, authentic contributions and learning to say NO!
This week I share a great conversation I had with Renée Dineen. Renée is an international thought leader playing at the intersection of business, leadership, psychology and well-being.
Prior to launching her own coaching & consulting practice, Renée spent over 20 years in international senior leadership roles in the high tech and biotech industries. Renée has presented on dozens of global stages and has been featured in high profile media publications such as Fortune, Financial Times, Elephant Journal and Ladders Career Magazine.
Most recently Renée co-authored an anthology titled “The Art & Truth of Transformation for Women” which is an Amazon International Best Seller.
In February 2020, Renée took her own story to the TEDx stage. Her talk titled Authentic Inaction: Undoing the Doing in a Do Crazy World is an account of her own trials and tribulations as a “doing addict” and workaholic, which has reached over 600K views and supports her mission to revolutionise the way we work, play & relate to one another and our purpose.
What you’ll hear about:
What is Authentic Inaction
Our addiction to being busy
Fear of Missing Out
Making tough choices
Being in choice
Authentic contributions
What values feed your working life
Breaking the myths around saying No
Adding white space to your calendar
Obligations versus contributions
Companies are not going to make it easy for you
Are your boundaries serving you?
Fake it till you make it, is not how you build confidence
Confidence is an energy that supports you getting what you want and need in life
When you’re confident you’re more interested in learning than getting it right
Weekly Challenge : Pick 3 things to say No to and one thing to say heck YES! And it should be something you couldn’t do without saying No to the others.
